Thanks Giving #polaride
Thanksgiving, it's a time of year where we all get together with friends and family, gather around the table, eat copious amounts of food, swap stories and tell each other what we are thankful for. It's also a tradition for a group of friends here in Girona that myself and David had the pleasure of joining to shred some gravel on the groads and singletracks of Girona.
We joined Nathan Haas, Marty Lach, Matt Stamantis & gravel Jesus of Girona Dave Smith (Grit Girona Gravel Tours) on their annual thanksgiving gravel ride out.
The route was fantastic as always, Dave knows these roads like the back of his hand. We headed out of Girona at 11am after a coffee at Hidden cafe after much faffing around (it's the same with most cyclists right? We never leave on time…) We were instantly greeted by a single track with a rollercoaster-like feel. Moral was high as was the banter, cruising through fields, trails and river crossings like kids on their bikes for the first time.
It's traditions like this that have to be appreciated, because no matter how small they look to others, they mean the world to those that host them. It's also a hell of a lot of fun. Honoured that we at CHPT3 could join these gravel legends of Girona with our Polaroid camera to capture.
We understand that thanksgiving isn't everyone's tradition but we are thankful for the community that we have here in Girona.
