A jersey made from a base layer material? "That's not possible". Well here it is. Developed alongside Castelli, we took their super lightweight climbing jersey and stripped it back, making for one of our most technical garments to date. We settled on a 145g/m mesh fabric which transports sweat away from the skin, enhancing your bodies natural cooling system to keep you as cool as possible when the heat ramps up.
We all dream of hot, sunny days but when the reality of an August heatwave hits you halfway up an unrelenting climb, those dreams quickly pool into the sweat dripping onto your handlebars. It's for these eventualities that we created the Forbici Jersey, designed to keep you as cool as possible. Built with a super-light mesh fabric that's modelled on our Sleeveless Base Layer, we've upped the weighting slightly to 145g/m to ensure durability whilst wicking the heat from your body like nothing else.
When it came to naming this jersey, we harked back to the days when racers were equipped with just one, heavy-weight jersey to be used in every season. For the scorcher days, racers would have to bring out the scissors, cut the sleeves back and hack holes in an attempt to increase airflow. The 'Scissor Jersey' isn’t a very good name, but translate it into Italian and it’s perfect. The Forbici Jersey is a highly modern solution to an age-old problem – and you won’t need the scissors anymore.
