We see the word ‘essential’ used quite a lot in the cycling world, almost as much as in the aisles of Waitrose. It got us thinking in the office, “what’s actually essential on a bike ride?”. Some air in our tyres and water in our bottle certainly covers it on the most part for our riding, but what about the nice to have things? The multitool which makes it at least look like we tried to repair our snapped chain before calling a taxi. The five pound note which we'll squander on Haribo 25k into our next 'epic' ride. If nothing else, it will shave some time off your pre-ride ritual of storming around the house searching for that "bloody inner tube".

This is our simple answer: an unfussy little pouch to carry the items that you often need on the bike with you, ensuring that they remain in one convenient place to pick up on your way out of the door. Fill it with a tube, multi-tool, chain link… that sort of thing. Always ready, always with you, never essential, often useful.

  • Internal pockets to keep your stuff separated – ideal if you’re the kind of person that doesn't let your peas and carrots touch
  • Waterproof zip – probably completely unnecessary for the conditions you ride in but it looks the part
  • Cordura fabric – originally developed for military use. Perfect for your café ride next Sunday
  • 190x115mm - big enough for an iPhone 11
  • Proven to reduce pre-ride preparation time by 17.3%

Useful, not essential
